I love sandwich makers. I think that they are something that most of us first experienced when we were young and then forgot about them. I have been following a low carb diet and one day it occurred to me that if I had one of these I can use it to make my omelets and crust less quiches. Oh and fritters. I haven't tried them yet but plan to try to create a fritter using something besides flour. The possibilities are really endless with this..
This sandwich maker has worked like a charm. I've used it every day for the last 2 weeks and it cooks evenly and consistantly. The heat is a gentle steady heat which makes it perfect for my uses. I like the fact that it gives you a green light when it's ready and that I can wrap the cord up on the back when I'm done.
The only caution I offer is be careful not to overfill it or you will have a mess!
This device works to make delicious hot sandwiches with any sort of filling you like, and it doesn't burn them. So, no complaints on that score. The sandwiches usually come out easily (every once in a while one will stick and bit and have to be pried off with a spatula). The pads are nonstick, and easy to wipe out.
The problem is, the wire is a bit short for me as i sometime use this thing other than in kitchen
